Abstract: CCCAA is working on urging and helping Chinese American to complete voter registration for election of year 2016.
Year 2016 is the election year in the USA. In an attempt to increase Chinese American involvement in governmental affairs, Coordination Council of Chinese American Associations is strongly encouraging Chinese American to be involved in the election. With the CCCAA’s coordination, the election board of Montgomery County held the first training for volunteers on Nov 11th, 2015. It was a busy Friday night. The heavy rain made the traffic even worse. Some volunteers had to spend 2 hours driving on the slippery roads to get to this location. After an hour of training and discussion, the volunteers learned about the American voter registration and voting procedure. They formulated an exact plan for their next actions. The volunteers had a sense of patriotism and pride for giving aid to American democracy. The voter registration program is currently ongoing and active; a second round of training is on the way.
